It's been moving to watch the respect and honor being paid to the late President George H.W. Bush, our 41st commander in chief.
His body was flown from Houston to Washington Monday, aboard a presidential airplane ordered by President Trump. And he will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda until Wednesday, when a funeral service will be held in Washington's National Cathedral.
Appropriately, the media has recalled George H.W. Bush as a loving husband and father, his life of public service.
They are also focusing on, more than I can ever recall, his dignity and for treating the presidency, as one TV analyst remarked, with "decency in this hour of vulgarity."
And on some networks that seemed to be the underlying theme of the coverage Monday, hammering away at the differences between #41 and #45.
A cable network anchor, waving her hands in a way as if to discount her next words, said, "Trump has had some respectful words for George H.W. Bush."
I find it childishly transparent and inappropriate for some in the media to use the coverage of President Bush's funeral to bludgeon President Trump.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
