News 9 and FlatSafe Tornado Shelters surprised the third winner in our Shelter from the Storm sweepstakes. This one took us to Chandler, where the winner's wife, a third grade teacher, had no idea we were stopping by.
Walking through the hallway at Chandler Elementary School, third grade teacher Bridget Hughey had no idea what was coming.
"We're going in, we're doing it," said Lacey Swope, News 9 Meteorologist, while opening the door to her classroom.
DAVID PAYNE: "Oh my gosh. Hey everybody, how we doing? Are you Bridget?"
BRIDGET HUGHEY: "I am."
DAVID PAYNE: "I'm David Payne from News 9."
LACEY SWOPE: "I'm Lacey Swope."
BRIDGET HUGHEY: "I'm going to cry."
DAVID PAYNE: "No, no, no, don't cry. You can if you want, here's what's going on. You're mother, lovely lady, basically wrote us a super nice letter, talking about you and your husband and you're kids and that you and you're family have earned it and you deserve it what is it?"
LACEY SWOPE: "It's a storm shelter. We have a shelter from the storm contest and you have been selected to get a brand new FlatSafe storm shelter."
BRIDGET HUGHEY: "That's amazing, oh, my gosh, thank you."
Bridget's husband Kevin is a Shawnee police officer and works the night shift. He was out of town, so we surprised him too using Facetime.
BRIDGET HUGHEY: "We won a free storm shelter."
KEVIN HUGHEY: "Holy cow, are you serious?"
BRIDGET HUGHEY: "The whole news crew is in my classroom right now along with all the other teachers and all of our family. Pretty cool."
LACEY SWOPE: "Well you guys definitely deserve it. We are very excited to do this."
KEVIN HUGHEY: "Thank you so much we really appreciate it."
Beverly Ash, Bridget's mother, nominated Kevin for the shelter.
"He's a hard working police officer, she loves her kids, her students," Ash said. "They work hard."
The couple has three children, Tyson, 13, Paisley, 2, and Rylie, 5, who survived stage V kidney cancer when she was just 2 years old.

"Really hard year for them, but, you know, they're back on their feet and Kevin works so hard and he's such a great dad to them," Ash said. "They won't have to get out in the storm to go somewhere to be safe, so it's good."
We have one more shelter to give away from FlatSafe and News 9, just go here to nominate a deserving Oklahoma family: http://www.news9.com/category/313099/saferoom-giveaway
