Around 9:20 Wednesday night, officers responded to the scene near Southeast 22nd and Walnut Avenue. The 4-year-old was immediately taken to the hospital.
Oklahoma City police say it appears there was an altercation at the residence before the shooting occurred.
“It’s unclear how the shooter was related to the little girl, or to the family. But some type of argument took place,” said Master Sgt. Gary Knight with OKCPD.
According to the police report, everyone involved knew each other.
Police say a woman and Mack were in a car together, when they got into a verbal altercation. The woman exited the vehicle, and that's when Mack drove to the front of the residence, pulled out a gun and started shooting at the house.
Police say the 4-year-old was playing inside a van that was parked in front of the home, when the van was hit with bullets.
“Thankfully it’s a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She is expected to recover,” Knight said.
Police say it is unclear who was being targeted when Mack opened fire.
