A mother convicted of enabling the child abuse that led to her daughter's death won't get a new trial.

Raye Dawn Smith was convicted in 2007 of enabling the child abuse that lead to the death of her two-year-old Kelsey Smith Briggs in 2005.

Smith is serving a 27-year prison sentence.

The Shawnee Star Tribune say her request was denied on Friday.
