Officials Identify Pedestrian Killed In Edmond Auto-Ped Crash

Troopers have identified a man hit and killed on Interstate 35 in Edmond, Tuesday August 14. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a vehicle was traveling southbound in the center lane of I-35 when a pedestrian standing in the center lane was struck. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Chris Burgess.

Burgess was pronounced dead at the scene from head and trunk internal and external injuries.

Troopers said the woman who hit Burgess was not hurt.

A fundraiser to help with Burgess’s funeral expenses will be held Sunday, September 2 at City Limits Bar in Oklahoma City. Donations will be accepted. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the show will start at 3 p.m.
