Crews have gotten a handle on a grass fire that flared up on the southwest side of the metro, Friday evening.

Firefighters were called out to battle the small blaze in the area of SW 79^th Street and S. Shartel Avenue, on the northern side of Lightning Creek Park.

No homes were threatened, but the fire did burn close to some oil pumpjacks and storage units. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
