Oklahoma State wide receiver James Washington is one of 10 players to be recognized as semifinalists for the 2017 Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced Monday.
Washington is one of three Big 12 athletes named semifinalists for the award which honors college football's top receiver Monday, as he is joined by West Virginia's David Sills and Texas Tech's Keke Coutee among the group of 10.
Washington's 34 career receiving touchdowns are the highest total among all active FBS players. He also leads all active players with 3,928 career receiving yards and leads all Power Five players with 19.9 yard per catch in his career (minimum 100 career receptions).
A midseason All-American by several publications, including the Associated Press, Washington is the consensus pick as the nation's top receiver and he's the favorite to win the Biletnikoff Award.
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation will go through a second round of voting this week to determine the three finalists for the award, which will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The 2017 Biletnikoff Award winner will then be announced live on Dec. 7, 2017, on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show, which airs from 6-8 p.m. CT on ESPN.
