The 2017 football season is one of redemption for the Crescent High School football team.
“It’s an exciting time,” says head coach J.L. Fisher.
It wasn’t as exciting three years ago when Fisher’s 11 seniors were playing as freshman.
“It was really kind of aggravating,“ says senior Josiah Lovett.
“It was a rough time,” adds senior Dylan Emery about his freshman year playing.
That year the Crescent Tigers lost every single game they played and ended the season 0-10.
“It really motivated us,” says Emery.
“We just told them it would pay off,” says Fisher, who played on Crescent’s last state title team in 1990. "We are kind of at that point."
Led by the number of seniors, the Tigers are no longer too young or inexperienced. The Tigers have shredded through every team on the schedule and are 10-0. Crescent hosts Porter High School tonight in round one of the state playoffs.
