Cox Communication has just put more than 130 outdoor Wi-Fi hotspots online across the metro.
They will cover from Norman up to Edmond and Yukon to Midwest City and everything in between. The service will be available to their customers, who can log in and surf the web. At Cox’s website, you can narrow down the exact hot spot locations.
“If you intend to attract highly educated 20-somethings like we do you want to have more and more devices connect to the internet, so this is a step forward for us,” said OKC Mayor Mick Cornett
“Consumers can go and log on through this Wi-Fi network and that speed is actually faster than many consumers have in their home,” said Cox VP of Public Relations Kristen Peck.
Cox picked locations where people would gather. Some locations may even surprise customers. For example, the location of Christmas in the Park in Yukon is now a Cox Wi-Fi hotspot.
