A week from Monday, the 538 electors of the Electoral College will meet at their respective state Capitols and cast their votes, and Donald Trump will be officially confirmed as the president-elect.
But, what if, and there have been a lot of those in this post-election whirlwind, what if the electors are given reason to believe a foreign government interfered with the election and altered the outcome? Would they change their votes to Clinton?
I know it sounds preposterous, like a spy novel, but it's the latest development.
Apparently, 10 electors of the Electoral College are now demanding a national intelligence briefing on whether the Russians, through computer hacking of the Democratic National Convention and Clinton campaign, tilted the election to Donald Trump.
Not only that, but these electors intend to require from Donald Trump conclusive evidence that his campaign did not accept Russian interference, or otherwise collaborate during the campaign.
And the former chairman of Hillary Clinton's campaign, John Podesta, his e-mails were exposed, supports these electors and would no doubt like many more to join them at the requested intelligence briefing.
I'll be shocked if anything comes of it, but there's still a week before the electors vote and time for plenty more weirdness.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's MY 2 Cents.
