Multiple Fire Crews Battle Nichols Hills House Fire

Multiple fire crews battled a house fire Saturday afternoon in Nichols Hills.

The fire was reported at 1800 Huntington Avenue. Nichols Hills firefighters requested assistance from Oklahoma City firefighters shortly after 4 p.m. 

Heavy smoke was visible in the area for most of the day and into the evening. Firefighters said the fire became difficult to fight when they tried to put it out in the attic.

The family was not in the home at the time of the fire and firefighters rescued a family pet from the fire.

Firefighters have not released how the fire started.
