Your 2 Cents: Ryan Lochte Referred To As 'Ugly American'

The label "ugly Americans" is being thrown around again after the boorish behavior in Rio of Ryan Lochte and three other swimmers, but it's not who we are.   

Here's what you had to say: 

Sara from Hinton first, "Because we are American I believe our behavior should reflect what our country stands for. And that is not to act as if we are entitled to do anything to anyone we wish."

Ann said, "He behaved appallingly , but I don't believe he took anything away from the people who did us proud!"

Pam from Del City writes, "He was in Rio to represent the USA and he made us all look bad. His sponsors have dropped him. Now, the Olympic Committee should strip him of his medals." 

Mike says, "I have been embarrassed too many times by loud, entitled, drunken Americans abroad. It's often a situation where one person gives us all a bad name."

And David from Blanchard adds, "This is why I don't travel outside the United States, most countries are either very rude or extremely hostile towards Americans."

Finally from Ann in Del City, "I think people 'love' to 'hate' America because they are jealous."
