British Open: Quadruple Bogey Hurts Fowler in Third Round

<p>Former OSU golfer Rickie Fowler struggled on the back nine during the third round of the British Open at Royal Troon in Scotland. </p>

British Open: Quadruple Bogey Hurts Fowler in Third Round

Despite trailing by one stroke coming into the day, Swedish golfer Henrik Stenson shot three under par on Saturday at Royal Troon and holds a one shot lead through three rounds in the British Open.

Phil Mickelson held a one stroke lead entering the round, but now sits in second place at 11 under par while Stenson’s score of 12 under is still within striking distance for the American.

Former OSU golfer Rickie Fowler is currently in 43rd place and is four over par for the tournament. Fowler entered the day in pretty good position to make a run, but a quadruple bogey on hole No. 13 put him in a tough position as he bogeyed two more holes on the back nine.

Fowler will begin the final round tomorrow morning at 7:15 and will be paired with English golfer Tyrrell Hatton.

Other notable scores through three rounds: Dustin Johnson (-1), Zach Johnson (-1), Rory McIlroy (E), Bubba Watson (+5), Jordan Spieth (+5), Adam Scott (+5).
