Firefighters have put out a large house fire in Edmond, possibly caused by lightning.
Just after 2 a.m. Friday, flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the million-dollar home in the 17000 block of Rainwater Trail, in the Rose Creek subdivision.
Oklahoma City firefighters described “very heavy” fire conditions when they arrived to the 7,000 square foot home. Firefighters say the homeowners are believed to be out of town.
Fire officials believe the fire caused about $600,000 to $700,000 of damage to the home. The roof is destroyed, and the upstairs area of the home was heavily damaged.
No one was injured.
