A rough week for the Oklahoma City Thunder just got a little bit worse. The NBA announced on Friday that forward Mitch McGary will be suspended the first five games of the season without pay for violating the league's drug policy.
"I clearly made a mistake and for that I apologize to the organization, my teammates, and our fans," McGary said. "I realize there are only so many opportunities given to you and I need to make sure that as a person and as a player, I take accountability and ensure this does not happen again."
This is Mitch McGary's 3rd violation for what I'd guess is marijuana. Next marijuana violation will be a 10 game suspension for him

This isn't the first time McGary has been in trouble, seeing he the NCAA suspended him for a whole season for testing positive for marijuana after his sophomore year, but McGary opted to leave early for the NBA instead. It's also worth noting he missed time earlier this past season for undisclosed personal reasons.
My comment on Royce Young's news re: Mitch McGary - McGary claimed to have tried pot 1x,that was why he was suspended from Michigan/declared

McGary was drafted 21st overall by the Thunder back in 2014 and appeared in 20 games this past season averaging 1.3 points per game.
