The Oklahoma City Thunder are warning against fake playoff tickets being sold online after several people fell victim Sunday night.

“Seems like it checked out,” said Krysten Allred, who paid $400 for two fake tickets Sunday.

She responded with a Craigslist and her fiancé handed over the money near the arena Sunday night to a man named “Gary”.

“He said they are real tickets. I’ll show you my receipt,” said Allred.

It gave off a negative chirp, we could tell it wasn’t going through,” said Allred about going through the gate and finding out the tickets were fake.

The Thunders confirms Allred was one of at least dozen fans scammed.

“Not saying they are all fake on Craigslist, but a lot of them are. That’s what these scammers do for their business,” said Thunder Spokesman, Dan Mahoney.

“You feel kind of stupid when something like happens,” added Allred.

That’s especially true when Allred noticed Oklahoma was actually misspelled on her ticket.

What is even more frustrating is that “Gary” answered the same number on Craigslist when News 9 called. Gary told us we’d have to wire him the money and he’d overnight the tickets for Game 4.

“I have proof of purchase,” said Gary, who claimed he originally bought the ticket through Ticketmaster

Gary refused to meet us in person and maintained that the tickets are real. Allred has already requested surveillance video from the Starbucks in Bricktown where the money was handed over.

“People don’t report things like this out of embarrassment. You have to report it or they are going to get better at it.”
