Southeastern baseball placed six players on All-Great American Conference teams, highlighted by first team selections for Brady Colbert and Logan Terwilliger.
The first team duo was joined by Kaleb Thomas and Dylan Helms who earned second team honors, while Dylan Linke and Greg Husnander were each honorable mention picks.
Terwilliger, a senior third baseman from Rockwall, Texas, leads the Savage Storm on the year in batting average with a .327 mark and has a team-high 43 RBI. He has piled up 54 hits, 12 of which were doubles with a pair of triples and nine home runs. He has scored 38 runs, carries a .401 on-base percentage and slugs a team-high .588 while also leading the team in stolen bases with 10. He ranks seventh in the GAC in slugging, eighth in RBI and home runs, fifth in sac flies and 10th in stolen bases.
Colbert, a senior closer from Eufala, Okla., is tied for the league-lead in saves with 10 on the year and has put together a 4-3 record with a 4.22 ERA in 21 appearances with one start. He has tossed 64.0 innings and struck out a team-best 73 hitters while holding opponents to a .248 batting average. In addition to his GAC lead in saves he is ranked 11th in both total strikeouts and strikeouts looking, is third in games finished, eighth in appearances, ninth in fewest runs allowed and 10th in fewest hits allowed.
Thomas, a senior second baseman from Denison, Texas, picks up his second-straight second team All-GAC honors after posting a .325 average with a team-best 63 hits that included 10 doubles, two triples and a home run. He drove in 22 runs and scored 36 with an on-base percentage of .403 and a .412 slugging percentage. He also boasted a .966 fielding percentage. He ranks fifth in the league in hits, second in at bats, and third in plate appearances.
Helms, a senior center fielder from Eufala, Okla., also picks up his second-straight second team all-conference honor. He is a .324 hitter with 61 hits on the season, including a team-best 13 doubles with a triple and nine home runs. He has driven in 27 runs out of the leadoff position and scored a team-best 45. He leads the team with a .433 on-base percentage and slugs .548 and has added nine stolen bases. He ranks ninth in the GAC in OBP, 12th in slugging, sixth in hits and runs scored, fifth in doubles and eighth in home runs.
Linke, a senior starting pitcher from Duncan, Okla., picks up his first All-GAC honors after leading the Storm starters with a 7-3 record on the year with a 5.36 ERA and 63 strikeouts. He made 14 starts with one complete game and tossed 85.2 innings on the season. A total of 11 of his 14 starts went at least 6.0 innings, while eight of them lasted 7.0 or more. He ranks seventh in the league in innings pitched, seventh in both wins and batters struck out looking, and is tied for the league lead in starts.
Husnander, a senior catcher from Stuart, Fla., also picks up his first all-conference recognition after hitting .319 on the year with 46 hits that included nine doubles and seven home runs. One of those seven was a walk-off grand slam on the final day of the regular season for a rally victory over rival East Central. He has driven in 24 runs and scored 26 with a .431 on-base percentage and a .528 slugging mark and carries a .981 fielding percentage behind the plate and has thrown out six baserunners on the season. He leads the GAC in being hit by pitch.
Southeastern will be back on the field for the opening series of the Great American Conference tournament in a best-of-three rematch against East Central May 6-7 at The Ballpark in Durant.
