Yukon's mayor says a $4 million hole in the city's $50 million budget is on its way to getting repaired.
Mayor John Alberts told city council members Tuesday night the town's former administration overestimated anticipated tax revenue, and was spending too much taxpayer money.
Former City Manager Grayson resigned last December after questions arose about the budget.
"The council has continuing concerns about how money was being spent, and when we get all of the information, we will turn that over to the proper authorities. But I'm happy to report that there doesn't appear to be any missing money," Alberts said.
New City Manager Jim Crosby said he plans to lay off 10 city employees this Friday and will be asking all city departments to decrease their budgets by 5 percent.
