Leyton Hammonds scored 20 points off the bench and hot-shooting Oklahoma State earned its second win over Long Beach State in five days, 79-73 Friday night.
The Cowboys shot 53 percent from the field and Hammonds got Oklahoma State off to a fast start by knocking down his first four shots, including his first three 3--pointers, and had 17 points at halftime.
Jeff Newberry added 13 and Jeffrey Carroll 11 for the Cowboys.
Nick Faust scored 15 and A.J. Spencer added 16 for Long Beach State.
The two teams met five days ago in the third-place game of the Gildan Charleston Classic, where the Cowboys won 82-77.
Long Beach State took a fast seven-point lead, but the Cowboys shot their way back and held a seven-point lead of their own at halftime.
