The deadline is approaching for Oklahomans to take advantage of a program that allows them to pay their past-due tax obligations without penalties, interest or fees.
As of October 30, the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) has collected $92,898,427 in past-due taxes through PAYRight OK (PRO). PRO allows taxpayers to pay their tax obligations without penalties, interest or fees.
The commission encourages taxpayers to take advantage of the program before it ends on November 13.
“PAYRight OK offers taxpayers the opportunity to catch up on back taxes while generating revenue for Oklahoma and we hope more taxpayers can utilize the program while they still have time,” said Paula Ross, Director of Communications. “Many taxpayers have already taken advantage of PAYRight and we want to encourage anyone with a qualifying liability to utilize the program. We are pleased the program has been such a success and so many businesses and individuals have taken advantage of PRO to clear up back taxes. We would like to remind taxpayers who cannot pay in full that they have the option to enter into a six-month payment plan.”
Business and individual taxpayers participating in PRO can clear up back taxes for reporting periods ending prior to January 1, 2015, according to the commission.
Tax types included in the program are:
Through November 13, taxpayers participating in PRO will receive a full waiver of penalty and interest due on the eligible taxes. Taxpayers must voluntarily file any delinquent returns and pay the taxes owed for periods ending before January 1, 2015.
Taxpayers can pay their tax liabilities online at the Oklahoma Tax Commission’s Oklahoma Taxpayer Access Point (OkTAP) found at www.tax.ok.gov or by calling (866)-263-8612.
