Police are investigating a homicide in south Oklahoma City, Monday morning.
According to police, just before 9 a.m., officers responded reports of shots fired in the area of S.E. 62nd and Phillips. When they arrived, they found a homicide victim inside a home.
Police have not identified the victim at this time. No arrests have been made, and police have not released a suspect description.
Neighbors told News 9 a family lived there, but they did not know them as most people in the neighborhood keep to themselves.
“This is a very quiet neighborhood. I mean, you don’t hear things like this going on,” Arnetta Acord said.
So Acord was shocked by this homicide. “I don’t like to hear that somebody lost their life that way. That’s a horrible way to go,” she expressed. “My heart goes out to that family.”
