A Blanchard, Oklahoma, teenager was killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle collision in Grady County.
It happened at 7:25 p.m. on County Road 1240, just east of Sara Road. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Avalanche driven by a 16-year-old boy, whose name is being withheld, was going eastbound on CR 1240 when it collided head-on with a 2014 Ford Mustang. The Mustang was going westbound on CR 1240 at the time.
The Avalanche caught on fire following the collision.
After firefighters put out the fire, the driver of the Avalanche was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries. He was pinned inside the vehicle for about two hours as the OHP and Medical Examiner conducted their investigation.
According to the Bridge Creek Fire Department, after the OHP and Medical Examiner conducted their investigation, firefighters were able to free the victim from the vehicle.
Two other passengers in his vehicle, both 16 years old, were taken to OU Medical Center. Authorities said they are in good condition.
The driver of the Mustang was not injured.
Troopers said the cause of the collision is under investigation.
