No. 5 Oklahoma (42-7) clinched a share of its fourth straight Big 12 title as it secured a 7-4 win Sunday afternoon at Kansas (35-10) to win the three-game series.
Now 14-2 in league play, the Sooners have two games left in the Big 12 and own a four-game lead over Baylor, which is 8-4 with six games to go. Last year, Oklahoma became the first team in Big 12 history to win three straight conference crowns.
Senior Shelby Pendley had a game-high three hits as she went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Junior Erin Miller was 1-for-3 with a game-high three runs driven in.
In the circle, freshman Paige Parker picked up her 23rd win of the year for OU. She allowed one unearned run on two hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
Needing one home run to set the all-time home run record, senior Lauren Chamberlain was 0-for-1 with three runs scored as she matched a career high with four walks. Chamberlain now has 200 walks in her career, becoming the ninth player in Division I history to reach that total.
