Cleveland County sheriff's deputies arrested a Moore woman and confiscated $1,100 worth of cocaine following a traffic stop Friday morning in Norman.
About 2 a.m. Friday, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Brooks Street and Halray Drive after the deputy noticed the vehicle's third brake light wasn't working. The deputy contacted the driver identified as Erika Riana Guzman, 27, of Moore, and two passengers.
The deputy noted all three people were nervous. A few minutes later, another deputy arrived with a K-9 deputy. The K-9 was deployed and alerted to drugs in the car.
Guzman denied there were narcotics in the vehicle. She told deputies the vehicle was registered to her and she was the only person who drove it.
When deputies searched the car, they found a cigarette package in the trunk. The package contained 10 small clear plastic bags containing a white powder substance.
Deputies asked Guzman if she knew what was in the bags. Guzman told deputies, “It's mine and it's cocaine.”
A field test revealed the substance was cocaine. Its net weight was an estimated 11 grams.
Guzman was arrested on complaint of possession of controlled dangerous substance. Both passengers were released at the scene.
Deputies booked Guzman in the Cleveland County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $5,000. She remained in custody Friday afternoon.
Formal charges against Guzman are pending.
