Following the release of a video showing University of Oklahoma fraternity members chanting racial slurs, a crowd-funding account has been set up for a chef who worked at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) house.
As of Monday evening, the IndieGoGo account raised more than $25,000 for the man who could lose his job as a result of the house's closure.
Monday, OU President David Boren directed the SAE house be shut down within 24 hours.
According to the account description, the cook named Howard has been working at the house for years.
“You know and I know that this isn't the house we lived in. I'm positive Howard knows this too. I ask you to give some money to make sure he lands on his feet,” Blake Burkhart, the account's creator, said.
