Decision On Douglass-Locust Grove Football Game Delayed Until Thursday

The debate over a controversial high school football game will continue for at least one more day, after the judge in the case postponed ruling on the case until Thursday. A decision is expected to be made before 10 a.m.

Debate over the game continued inside a courtroom Wednesday afternoon. A district judge held a hearing at 1:30 p.m. on the game between Locust Grove and Douglass high schools.

Locust Grove won the game following a controversial call by a referee, but it can't advance to the state semi-finals until this is settled.

Last week, the OSSAA board voted to keep the outcome the way it is, and refused to let the two teams replay the final minute of the quarterfinal game. That's when Oklahoma City Schools asked for a judge to step in and that's what's led to Wednesday's hearing.

Wednesday morning, News 9 learned that the OSSAA has moved Douglass off of probation. A fan accused of hitting an official has been banned from OKCPS events for life.
