Authorities: Murder Suspect Escapes Bryan County Jail

Authorities are searching for a murder suspect who escaped from the Bryan County Jail Saturday afternoon.

Authorities are searching for a murder suspect who escaped from the Bryan County Jail Saturday afternoon.

According to CBS affiliate KXII, 26-year-old Raymond Jay Stewart escaped around 1:15 p.m. Saturday when he pushed his way past an officer and escaped through a back door.

Stewart was being held on a $1 million bond after being charged with first-degree murder back in March in the beating death of another man. 

Stewart stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair, green eyes and tattoos on his face and head. He is believed to be wearing an orange jumpsuit.
