The Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated a crash that killed an Arizona woman and injured a Stillwater man in Noble County, early Saturday morning. Authorities said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
It happened at just after 3 a.m. on County Road 175, located approximately five miles south and six miles east of Perry.
According to the OHP collision report, a 2005 Ford F-250, driven by 20-year-old Daniel Luke Morgan, was northbound on County Road 175 when the truck departed the roadway left into the ditch, rolled one-and-a-half times and came to rest on its top.
Troopers said one passenger, 18-year-old Savannah Marie Piatt of Phoenix, Ariz., was pinned for an unknown amount of time and pronounced dead on scene from a massive head injury.
Morgan was reportedly transported to OU Medical Center in stable condition with head, leg and truck internal injuries.
Both Morgan and Piatt were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, as stated in the collision report.
Troopers have listed the cause of the collision as “alcohol and unsafe speed.” They said Morgan had an odor of Alcohol.
