An Oklahoma County employee was charged with manslaughter. Jon Nathan Wilkerson, 39, faces a total of nine criminal counts. He's accused of driving drunk and causing an accident back in March involving a car full of people. One of the passengers died from her injuries back in July.
Wilkerson works for the Oklahoma County Clerk's office, the same office that Oklahoma County Clerk Carolyn Caudill represents.
You may remember, Caudill was charged with a DUI for an accident she was involved in last September. No one was hurt in that accident, but that is not the case here.
Wilkerson was originally arrested back on March 23, after he plowed his car into the back of another waiting at the red light near the intersection of Western and I-44 just after midnight. The police report states the responding officer immediately smelled a "very strong odor" of alcohol coming from Wilkerson and that he had "red, watery bloodshot eyes".

The officer also reported that Wilkerson was "slurring his words" and could barely stand, but that he did hear him say "this is bad".
Wilkerson was booked in for DUI and released the next day. But then he was brought back to the county jail four months later, after one of the people involved in that March crash passed away at the hospital from her injuries.
Wilkerson is currently out on a $50,000 bond. The incident brought attention again to the Oklahoma County Clerk's office.
Carolyn Caudill was arrested last September, after she was seen swerving her car and then crashed into a parked car.
In May of this year, Caudill pleaded no contest to a city misdemeanor DUI charge for that incident. She says she is attending both group and individual counseling sessions for a period of six months and also took part in a month long treatment program in California.
Caudill is now lending her support to her fellow coworker.
Wilkerson is the benefits coordinator for the county, a position he has had here for five years and still holds. He was officially charged with nine felony counts, including manslaughter and causing an accident resulting in great bodily injury while driving under the influence. He has no prior criminal record.
Wilkerson is expected to be arraigned on those nine felony counts Thursday afternoon. His attorney says he will plead not guilty.
