If you are waking up feeling sluggish Tuesday morning, the reason could be right on your nightstand.
Doctors say our electronic devices may be disrupting our precious sleep. Electronic devices are with many of us everywhere we go. But, there is a good reason to keep them out of the bedroom.
A doctor with Texas Tech University says having electronics, cellphones, tablets, computers and TVs can cause problems like insomnia and disrupted sleep cycles.
Doctors say the lights trick your body into thinking it's day time, which won't allow your body to produce sleep inducing hormones. A solution could as easy as giving yourself a curfew.
"Turning off electronic devices up to an hour before bedtime, in fact, housing and docking all of them outside of the bedroom," said Amanda Griffin M.D. with the Texas Tech University.
She also recommends not having a TV in the bedroom. But if you do, most TVs have timers that automatically turn off the screen as you sleep.
