Police are searching for a suspect who assaulted a Bethany officer late Friday night.
According to police, officers were responding to a vandalism call when they stopped the suspect near N.W. 23rd Street and Glade Avenue in Bethany.
A Bethany police officer told News 9 they were patting the suspect down when the assault occurred. The officer said they used a taser on the suspect twice, but he pulled the leads out and ran away.
Oklahoma City police assisted with a brief manhunt, but they said they eventually called off the search. Police said they still have the suspect's identification, and when they find him, he will face several charges.
As of 11:30 a.m. Saturday, officials said the suspect is still on the run.
