Cowboy sophomore Marcus Smart has been named a third-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, it was announced today.
Smart is the first OSU player to be named an All-American by the NABC more than once. He was a second-team selection by the NABC last season. He is just the seventh Cowboy to garner NABC All-America honors, joining Gale McArthur (2nd team in 1951), Bob Mattick (2nd team in 1954), Byron Houston (2nd team in 1992), Bryant Reeves (3rd team in 1995), Joey Graham (3rd team in 2005), and James Anderson (3rd team in 2010).
Smart is a two-time All-Big 12 First Team selection, a two-time USBWA All-District VI selection, a two-time NABC All-District 8 selection and now a two-time NABC All-American. He is also a two-time gold medalist for the United States (2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championships and 2013 FIBA U19 World Championships).
