Bias, Ellenburg Named All-Region

Oklahoma State's Tiffany Bias and Oklahoma's Aaryn Ellenberg were each honored by being named to the All-Region squads by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Tuesday.

Bias' selection marks the second consecutive year Oklahoma State has produced an all-region performer with Toni Young earning the distinction a year ago. Overall, the Cowgirls have had 13 all-region honorees.

A senior from Andover, Kan., Bias has guided OSU to a 25-8 mark and the program's third NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. She ranks 10th among Big 12 players in scoring with her 13.8 points per game and is second among league players at 6.1 assists per game and 2.2 steals per contest. Bias also leads the conference in minutes played at 36.5 per contest.

Ellenberg was the Big 12 Conference's second-leading scorer with 19.3 points per game and finished her career with a 36-point performance against DePaul in the NCAA First Round. Ellenberg led the Sooners in points scored, field goals made, 3-point field goals made, steals and minutes per game.

She also set OU's season and career records for 3-pointers made and finished 10th all-time in NCAA history in the category.

Ellenberg was also an All-Region nominee last year in addition to being an Associated Press All-America honorable mention. Three times, Ellenberg has been named to the All-Big 12 First Team, including unanimous votes the last two seasons.

The selection committee uses an equation to determine a fair number of nomineesfrom each region. The number of Division I institutions in each region is divided by the number of Division I institutions overall to determine a percentage for each region. This percentage is then multiplied by 52 (the total number of desired finalists) to get the number of finalists for each region.

The 2014 WBCA Division I Coaches' All-America Team will be announced at 1:10 p.m. CT Saturday April 5, during NCAA Women's Final Four® Super Saturday festivities in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
