I commented that Edmond's Blake Griffin was the only Los Angeles Clipper player I saw who put his right hand over his heart during the National Anthem Sunday. Most NBA players don't, but I pointed out last night that the U.S. Code said that is the correct way to honor the flag and anthem. Here's what you had to say.
Mary in Cushing first:
"Thank you for clarifying how to respect our National Anthem and Our Flag."
Marilyn wrote:
"Teaching the ignorant is an endless, thankless job.."
But Rick in Moore said:
"I love all these people here who think they're more patriotic if they place their hands over their heart during the anthem."
It's not a competition Rich.
Renita wrote:
"I love it! One of your best!"
Kristin in McLoud couldn't disagree more:
"Way to stir up the hate-filled rhetoric News 9...we have the right to believe anything we want.."
Brian from Edmond responded to that:
"The flag and the veterans you apparently choose to disrespect are the the VERY THINGS that give YOU the RIGHTS you just bragged about."
Lesa in Tuttle:
"..a little boy, probably 3 was playing on a cell phone while his mom sat beside him during the national anthem.. this is why we have disrespect."
Finally, Edward asked:
"Has anyone given our pro basketball team the heads up on this? I think there are usually only two who put their hands over their hearts."
