The Oklahoma City Public Schools canceled classes and activities on Tuesday due to inclement weather.
School officials said offices will be closed as well.
OKCPS spokesperson Tierney Tinnin spoke on News 9 This Morning, and said because temperatures are not expected to get above freezing and roads will become slick, officials determined that classes and activities should be canceled for the day.
Tinnin said the Oklahoma City Public Schools District has seven snow days built into the calendar for the school year, and they have already used six snow days and have one more left.
The Oklahoma City metro area is experiencing rain and freezing rain as temperatures hover around freezing.
Several other school districts have also canceled classes, including Deer Creek – Lamont, Enid, Guthrie, Kingfisher, Western Heights, and Woodward school districts.
