Oklahoma backup quarterback Kendall Thompson announced Tuesday on Twitter that he plans to transfer after graduating from the university this spring.
On his Twitter account, @thurm405, Thompson posted, "another path in store for me. I will be graduating in May, and transferring to play at another college next season. #WalkByFaithNotBySight".
As a result of graduating, Thompson will be eligible to play immediately next season without sitting out the traditional year. He will be graduating as a third-year sophomore giving him two years of eligibility.
Thompson is the son of former Sooner QB Charles Thompson. He broke his foot in the preseason but returned and earned playing time in a pair of contests, completing 4-of-13 passes for 64 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also had 20 rushing yards.
