Outside linebacker Shaun Lewis is the Defensive Player of the Week and freshman kicker Ben Grogan is the Special Teams Player of the Week in the Big 12, the conference announced Monday. Baylor running back Lache Seastrunk is the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.
Lewis led the Cowboys with eight tackles, forced a fumble, recovered another one and sealed the 33-29 victory with an interception. It's the first Player of the Week award for Lewis since Week 8 in 2011. Teammate Caleb Lavey also won the award this year.
Grogan's four field goals (30, 34, 23 and 28 yards) and 15 points scored are OSU records for a freshman. Grogan joins Josh Stewart on the list of Cowboys to win Special Teams Player of the Week.
Seastrunk rushed 15 times for 172 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of Baylor's 73-42 track meet against West Virginia. He did not play in the second half. Seastrunk leads the Big 12 and is second nationally with 147.2 rushing yards per game.
