Elderly Man Arrested In Shooting Death Of Wife In Wewoka

Wewoka police arrest a man accused of shooting and killing his wife Wednesday afternoon.

Melvin Darrell Streater, 74, faces a second degree murder charge in the killing of his wife, 73-year-old Trevia Sue Streater.

Investigators say Melvin Streater shot his wife at their home located at 1422 S. Seminole Street Wednesday afternoon. She was transported by medical helicopter to a hospital in Holdenville where she later died.

The Wewoka Police Department called OSBI for assistance on case.
