Traffic Violation Crackdown Nets 14 Arrests In Oklahoma County

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies made 14 arrests during a traffic violation crackdown operation over the weekend.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies made 14 arrests during a traffic violation crackdown operation over the weekend.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the 12-hour "Operation Eagle Eye" effort started at 3 p.m. on Saturday, and ended at 3 a.m. on Sunday.

During the first seven hours, authorities say there were a number of extra patrols enforcing seat belt and speeding violations. The day ended with a DUI checkpoint that was held at N.E. 23rd Street and Spencer Road.

Deputies arrested 14 people. Thirteen were arrested for driving under the influence, six were arrested for driving under suspension, one was arrested for warrants, three for possession of marijuana, and another four for other unspecified charges.

Authorities also wrote 225 tickets for minor offenses and gave 96 warnings.
