Starting cornerback Cortez Johnson is expected to be suspended for the Sooners' opener against Louisiana-Monroe for violating team rules according to Fox Sports.
Johnson has had a productive fall camp thus far, drawing praise from the coaching staff. He sat out last season after following Mike Stoops from Arizona. The 6-foot-2 defensive back is expected to be a key contributor for the Sooners defense starting opposite All-Big 12 corner Aaron Colvin.
The suspension could be based on Johnson's arrest last December for possession of marijuana. Johnson pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor drug charge in January.
