Mid-America Christian University has added Alliyah Spatafora to the women's basketball roster for the upcoming 2013-14 season.
Spatafora was a four-year varsity member and a two-year starter, while being named a captain as a senior for the South Broward Lady Bulldogs.
She averaged nine points, seven assists, four rebounds and three steals per contest during her senior season and helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 16-6 record and an appearance in the second round of the 7A state tournament. Her senior year success led her to be named to the Broward all-star team and participate in the South Florida All Star Basketball Classic.
"We are very fortunate to be adding Alliyah to our women's basketball family at MACU," Moeller said.
"She comes from an area of the country that is extremely talented. She has competed with and against some of the very best BCS level recruits in the country throughout her high school career. South Broward is nationally known as a terrific high school girls basketball program and Alliyah has experienced tons of success while playing for Coach (Sharlene) Ferguson at the highest level of Florida High School basketball. She was blessed to have the opportunity to play in multiple state tournament final four games. Alliyah is a very athletic and skilled combo guard who likes to play an up-tempo style and she has a great four year career ahead of her because of her phenomenal work ethic and desire to learn and grow."
