Luther Wildfire Survivor Helps Woman Recovering From Crash

A man who survived last summer's Luther wildfires by jumping in a pond is showing his Oklahoma spirit. He is using the money left in his recovery fund to help a woman who was injured in a crash.

Justin Wilson and his family lost everything. They got out with only the clothes on their backs and their lives.

Wilson, who plays football for Emporia State University in Kansas, is using the money left in his wildfire recovery fund to help a woman who was hit by a car.

Yali Huang, a Chinese exchange student at Emporia State, has been in a Kansas hospital for several weeks recovering from a traumatic brain injury.

"Push through the hard times, because it's not always going to be easy right off the jump. But after a while with all the help and love and support, things just get easier," Wilson said.

This weekend, Huang and her family used the money to help them fly back home to China.
