OSU's Sharp Named To 2012 AFCA All-America Team

Oklahoma State kicker Quinn Sharp was named to the 2012 American Football Coaches Association All-America team. This makes him the first player in school history to claim a spot on a recognized All-America team in three different seasons.

Sharp had previously been named to the Football Writers Association's All-America team as a punter in 2010 and as a kicker in 2011.

Entering this week's regular-season finale at Baylor, Sharp leads all kickers nationally with 11.8 points scored per game and 2.09 field goals made per game. He's also a perfect 61-for-61 on point-after-touchdown attempts. His career field goal percentage of .833 ranks third in the country and he is the active career leader in touchbacks on kickoffs by a wide margin after leading the nation in that category every year of his career.

Though he did not earn AFCA All-America punter recognition, it should be noted that he also holds a spot among the elite at that position as well, leading all Big 12 punters with a 46.2 yards-per-punt average. He is the primary reason for Oklahoma State ranking eighth in the country in net punting.
