The Oklahoma volleyball team defeated TCU 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-23) Saturday afternoon for its ninth sweep of the season in Fort Worth, Texas.
The victory moves Oklahoma to 14-5 on the year and 3-1 in Big 12 competition, while TCU drops to 13-5 overall, and 2-3 in the league.
Freshman Julia Doyle pinned her second double-double in as many matches, and sixth of her freshman campaign after she led the team with 30 assists and totaled 10 digs. The freshman setter also notched two service aces - a team-high alongside fellow teammate Grace Whitley - three block assists, and four kills off of seven swings with no errors to hit .571 against the Horned Frogs.
Senior outside hitter Morgan Reynolds led the Sooners offensively with 12 kills on the afternoon. With her efforts, Reynolds successfully struck 24 of her 12 hits with just two errors to hit .471 versus TCU - her best output this season in conference action.
Fellow outside hitter Keila Rodriguez had a stellar performance after the junior totaled a personal-best 19 digs to lead the team in the respective category for the third time both this season, and of her career. Alongside her defensive efforts, Rodriguez also added eight kills and two total blocks to help propel OU to the victory.
Sallie McLaurin led Oklahoma in blocks for the 14th time this season after she totaled six - all block assists - against TCU. The junior middle blocker also helped the Sooners offensive efforts after she pinned down nine of her 16 attempts with zero errors.
OU returns home next week for a two-match home stand against Kansas and Baylor. The Sooners will take on the Jayhawks Wednesday, with the Bears scheduled on Friday. First serve is set for 7 p.m. for both matches.
