Oklahoma defensive tackle Stacy McGee has been suspended indefinitely from the Sooner football team.
Coach Bob Stoops announced the suspension on Friday. McGee has been suspended for an undisclosed violation of university policies.
The Muskogee native started 11 games as a sophomore in 2010 and earned three starts last season. He was slated to be in a rotation at the position against with Casey Walker and Jamarkus McFarland.
Stoops announced that defensive end David King will shift over to defensive tackle to replace McGee.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound McGee recorded 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season. He was suspended for the 2011 season opener after being cited for possession of marijuana.
