An Oklahoma City man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and allegedly leaving the scene of an accident that left a motorcyclist injured.
According to police, just after 10 p.m. on August 4, an officer stopped a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Juan Vasquez at N.W. 39th Street and St. Clair, after he noticed the car was going west in the eastbound lanes of N.W. 39th Street.
The officer said Vasquez had blood shot eyes and was very unsteady on his feet. The officer stated he also smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Vasquez.
Vasquez was then taken into custody for DUI. However, according to witnesses at the scene, Vasquez had hit a motorcycle at N.W.38th and May, and he drove off without stopping.
Officers then spoke with the victim, who was later taken to the Baptist Hospital due to back and foot pain.
Vasquez was arrested on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an injury accident, and driving without a state driver's license.
