Police arrested a worker for the City of The Village after she allegedly used a customer's credit card to go on a shopping spree.
The Village Police Department said 22-year-old Ashley Marie Johnson obtained the credit card information when a customer paid for trash service over the telephone. Police said Johnson then used the credit card to buy items online.
The victim notified police after seeing the purchases on her credit card statement. A police investigation led to Johnson, who was arrested on June 26.
Police said they are still investigating the case. They are asking residents to check their credit card statements during the time period between October 2011 and June 2012 for any irregularities. If past customers notice a problem, they should contact The Village Police Department at (405) 751-9564.
