Eastern Oklahoma Woman's Death Ruled A Suicide

Authorities in Sequoyah County now say a 53-year-old woman committed suicide.

Sheriff Ron Lockhart says the woman was pronounced dead at a hospital after she was shot in the torso Monday night. Lockhart says the shooting was reported in the New Hope area, which is about 8 miles northeast of Sallisaw.

The woman's body will be sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Tulsa for an autopsy.
