NORMAN, Oklahoma – In the first two games against the Bears this weekend, pitching won it for the Sooners.

In Sunday's series finale, it was their play at the plate that got the job done.

OU completed the sweep of the 2nd-ranked Baylor Bears on Sunday in Norman with a 12-6 victory, following up Saturday's slightly different 1-0 and 2-1 losses.

The Bears were 18-0 in Big 12 play heading into the weekend and received their first three conference losses, all from the Sooners.

OU coach Sunny Golloway said what his team did this weekend is going to speak volumes for it.

"Last year, we were ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, but we didn't finish strong," he said. "We want to finish strong. We want to be playing well. If we do happen to make the NCAA Tournament, we want to be playing good baseball."

Several Sooners had big days on the stat sheet, including Jack Mayfield, who picked up three hits and four RBIs in the game.

Evan Mistich added three RBIs of his own, and Garrett Carey and Cody Reine drove in two runs apiece.

Both teams had some impressive offensive numbers as well, with OU racking up 15 hits in the game and Baylor 13.

Damien Magnifico didn't have the best day on the mound but it was more than enough for the Sooners to pick up the win with the way they hit the ball.

Magnifico gave up 10 hits and three runs in 5.1 innings. Baylor starter Tyler Bremer suffered his first loss of the season after giving up five runs on seven hits.

The Sooners moved to 33-19 overall and 13-10 in Big 12 play after the three-game sweep while the Bears dropped to 39-11 (18-3).

OU will host TCU in a Tuesday night matchup in Norman with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
