SAN ANTONIO – The Barons have advanced to the Western Conference Finals.
A 4-3 victory against the San Antonio Rampage on Friday night wrapped up the conference semifinal series for Oklahoma City, who advanced 4-1 over the Rampage.
OKC split its pair of games at home in the series against the Rampage but won all three in San Antonio.
The Barons were up 3-1 on Friday night early in the third period before San Antonio pulled back even.
Two goals in a 22-second span from the Rampage tied the game at three goals apiece.
But a power play goal from Ryan Keller with 2:04 remaining (his second in the period) was enough to list OKC over San Antonio in dramatic fashion.
Yann Danis had 22 saves in goal for Oklahoma City, moving his record to 7-2 in the playoffs.
The Barons will move on to play the Toronto Marlies, who swept the Rochester Americans to make it to the conference finals.
The Barons regular season record of 45-22-4-5 and 99 points is enough to give Oklahoma City home ice advantage in the series.
